Our team of applications specialists, technologists, and engineers work together in providing our customers with advanced equipment selection and turn-key system designs. Customized to the customer’s specific needs, should the application call for pumping, compressing, mixing, measuring, heating or cooling, dosing or treating, we can propose a solution.
AWC is currently seeking a Bid Estimator to join the Applications team and assist in preparing bids and proposals for large projects. The Bid Estimator will work with the Applications team in reviewing specifications, obtaining cost estimates, and preparing submissions. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acquiring specifications and related technical documents, specific to the requirements of each unique AWC bid
  • Partnering with the Applications team in reviewing specifications, obtaining cost estimates, and preparing submissions
  • Receiving and evaluating vendor quotes for applicable scopes, aligning with the project bid requirements and documents
  • Preparing detailed take-offs and assigning relevant cost factors for project budget estimates
  • Identifying labour, equipment, time, and costs, required for successful project implementation of submitted bids
  • Assisting the Applications and Operations team in the drafting, reviewing, and presentation of project schedules
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending product training and reviewing technical brochures

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in engineering or related technical disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Bid Estimator role of estimating sell prices based on inventory costs
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and literature
  • Previous experience with proposal development and submissions, is considered an an asset
  • Advanced management or technical training is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering quality results and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload, multiple projects, and priorities, pro-actively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Self-starter and motivator who enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A deep sense of curiosity, interest in continuous learning, and willingness to challenge assumptions
