Our team of applications specialists, technologists, and engineers work together in providing our customers with advanced equipment selection and turn-key system designs. Customized to the customer’s specific needs, should the application call for pumping, compressing, mixing, measuring, heating or cooling, dosing or treating, we can propose a solution. AWC is currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineering Technologist for an Applications Specialist position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting AWC’s clients (e.g., engineering firms, end-users, contractors) in the selection of process equipment to meet their specific needs
  • Responding to clients’ emails and telephone calls to provide technical assistance
  • Partnering with various disciplines internal to AWC (such as engineering, fabrication, CAD, etc.) as well as, external suppliers
  • Demonstrating an understanding of various industrial processes to recommend specific solutions to clients’ requests
  • Preparing quotations and proposals in response to customer queries
  • Attending and leading meetings with AWC employees, clients, suppliers to provide products, systems, and support, with a focus on satisfying customer requirements and solving problems
  • Assisting in the conceptual design, pricing, and proposal preparation, of various custom packaged systems
  • Assisting in project management of said systems to ensure the successful execution of each job
  • A complete six (6) month training program will be offered with a focus on learning a wide variety of products, systems, processes and industries, as well as, establishing a solid foundation in the industrial technology field

Requirements

  • A post-secondary Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and literature
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Self-starter and motivator who enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A deep sense of curiosity, interest in continuous learning, and willingness to challenge assumptions
